DoD, Lockheed Finalize $8.5B Deal for 90 Lot 10 F-35 Jets

TYSONS CORNER, VA, Feb. 7, 2017 — The Defense Department and Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) have completed negotiations on an $8.5 billion contract for the production of 90 lot 10 F-35 fighter jets, GovCon Wire reported Monday.

Reuters reported Friday the contract lowers the price per aircraft from $102 million to $95 million, amounting to a $728 million reduction in costs compared to the previous batch of F-35s.
