Raytheon Pays $420M for ISR, Cyber Firm Blackbird Technologies

Raytheon-logo_EbizExecutive Mosaic, Tysons Corner, VA November 5, 2014 – GovCon Wire reported on Wednesday that Raytheon (NYSE:RTN) has acquired Blackbird Technologies for approximately $420 million.

“Blackbird Technologies is a strong fit for Raytheon and enhances the growth prospects of our business and the capabilities we can offer our customers,’ said Lynn Dugle, Raytheon’s IIS segment president. “The combination will bring even more talent, innovation and experience to our customers.”

This acquisition is intended to grow Raytheon’s cybersecurity, ISR and special operations technology offerings, while complementing the firm’s command and control, sensor and communications systems portfolio.

The company does not expect the transaction to have a material impact on its 2014 fourth quarter results.
