TYSONS CORNER, VA, Oct. 9, 2017 — A joint venture between AECOM (NYSE: ACM) and three other companies has secured $928 million for a three-year extension on its work to oversee the Energy Department‘s Waste Isolation Pilot Plant in New Mexico, GovCon Wire reported Sept. 27.
The company said Sept. 26 its Nuclear Waste Partnership JV with BWX Technologies (NYSE: BWXT), Babcock & Wilcox Technical Services Group and AREVA Federal Services will continue to manage and operate the DOE facility potentially through September 2022, if DOE exercises a two-year option.
“Nuclear Waste Partnership has done an excellent job in restarting transuranic waste operations at WIPP and remains dedicated to safe, continued operations of the repository for our DOE client,” said John Vollmer, president of AECOM’s management services group and an inductee into Executive Mosaic’s Wash100 for 2017.
