TYSONS CORNER, VA, Jan. 13, 2017 — CAE (NYSE: CAE) has secured two long-term training services contracts worth $760 million in total from the U.S. Army and the Canadian air force, GovCon Wire reported Thursday.
The company said Thursday it will provide classroom, simulator and live instructor support for rotary-wing flight training at the Army’s Aviation Center of Excellence at Fort Rucker, Alabama, under the potential nine-year contract with the service branch.
The contract modification from Canada’s air force covers ground-school classroom, simulator and live flying training support under the NATO Flying Training in Canada program and includes an option to extend services to 2024.
“We are honored the Royal Canadian Air Force has extended its contract with CAE, and that the U.S. Army has selected CAE once again as its training partner to support the instruction required for its new helicopter pilots, which follows our contract to provide fixed-wing flight training to Army aviators,” said Gene Colabatistto, president of CAE’s defense and security group.
