Hello, Guest!

wash100-SEALThe Washington 100 is the premier group of leaders from across the industry and government sides of GovCon that generate transformative value for their organizations and the American public.

Executive Mosaic elected Craig Reed as a 2013 inductee into the Wash100 earlier this year in recognition on both sides of the GovCon intersection, with his current leadership position emphasizing his work to drive organizations forward in any market.

Reed serves as the senior vice president of strategy and corporate development at Engility Corp. and was instrumental in helping spin that company off from L-3 Communications and position it for growth in the future.

“The Engility opportunity looked to me like a chance to help build a company that truly provides a differentiated capability to serve the government’s important mission and do it in a manner that is extremely cost-competitive and cost-efficient,” Reed told ExecutiveBiz in an interview.

Reed previously served as senior vice president of strategy and corporate development for DynCorp International and worked for contractors including Northrop Grumman and Lockheed Martin earlier in his career.Craig-Reed-Engility-ExecutiveMosaic

The Doctor in Public Policy also ran the Energy Advisory Board of the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy while serving as a senior political appointee to DOE.

For Reed, now all eyes are forward on differentiating and growing Engility as a pure-play services provider against an LPTA background.

“We have already seen a number of companies in our space like SAIC and others doing or considering similar spin-offs like we’ve done,” Reed added. “We view the SAIC spin-off as a sort of validation of our model.  And we think we’ll see more of that type of activity throughout the industry,” he added.

Executive Mosaic extends its congratulations to Reed and the rest of the Engility organization.
