TYSONS CORNER, VA, Sept. 11, 2017 — IBM (NYSE: IBM) will perform cloud, software development and cognitive computing services for the U.S. Army‘s Logistics Support Activity under a potential $135 million contract, GovCon Wire reported Wednesday.
The company said Wednesday the recompete contract extends its existing managed services support for LOGSA through another 33 months in efforts to drive cybersecurity, application modernization and readiness.
Lisa Mascolo, managing director for U.S. public service at IBM’s global business services segment and an inductee into Executive Mosaic’s Wash100 for 2017, said the cognitive computing and analytics tool available in the cloud will work to help the Army streamline operations and generate cost savings.
