TYSONS CORNER, VA, July 12, 2017 — Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) will work with ViaSat (Nasdaq: VSAT) and Optus to develop a satellite ground station and wideband satellite communications network management system for the Australian military under a potential $170 million contract, GovCon Wire reported Tuesday.
The contract from Australia’s capability acquisition and sustainment group is part of Phase 5B2 of Joint Project 2008 that aims to deploy an integrated wideband satcom system to support military operations, Northrop said Monday.
